MARKETING WITH INTENTION. BRANDING WITH IMPACT.

Why a good dynamic between sales and marketing team is important in property management.

“Dynamics between sales and marketing teams”

In property management it is very important that the sales and marketing collaborate effectively with each other and have a strong dynamic. According to the HBR article, Are Your Marketing and Sales Teams on the Same Page?, each year, it is estimated to cost businesses $1 Trillion when sales and marketing teams are not aligned. In property management, this is important when creating collateral materials and updating any website materials. If teams are not aligned it can cause leads to become disinterested, leading to losing them and loss of revenue, with properties potentially having to honor pricing or specials if not changed on time on websites.

A couple of misalignment issues I’ve noticed in the industry is some sales teams do not select the correct source the lead is coming from. This is an issue for the marketing team because, based on the data provided from the report inputted by the sales team, the marketing team may be misinformed on what tactics are actually working. Another issue can be if sales teams do not inform the marketing team, or the marketing team does not adhere to requests in a timely manner, it will lead to outdated collateral and potentially revenue loss. Overall, it is important for both of these teams to be on the same page to refrain from any revenue loss or worse.
